- Cordless combi drill
- Suitable bit set
- Brad point drill bit (4 mm)
- Metal drill bit (4 mm)
- Hole saw (35 mm)
- Sanding paper (120-grit)
- G-clamps
- Set square
Materials
- 4 wooden boards (beechwood, 20 x 120 x 160 mm)
- 1 copper sheet (1 x 120 x 340 mm)
- 4 black round head screws (4 x 6 mm)
- 6 round head screws (4 x 16 mm)
- 12 washers (5.3 x 20 mm)
- 2 perforated plates (40 x 160 x 2 mm)
- Porcelain coffee filter
- Optional: 350 ml colorless wood oil
Step 1: Prepare the Wooden Boards
Drill precise holes for assembly
- Mark two holes on one wooden board, each 30 mm from the edges.
- Use a 4 mm Brad point drill bit to drill these holes.
- Place a scrap wooden board underneath to protect your workbench.
Step 2: Assemble the Wooden Base
Form an L-shape for the stand structure
- Using round head screws (4 x 16 mm), attach a second wooden board at a right angle to the drilled board.
- Secure with G-clamps while screwing.
- Optionally, apply wood oil for a polished finish.
Step 3: Drill the Copper Sheet
Create a hole for the coffee filter
- Mark a circular hole (35 mm diameter) on the copper sheet using a compass.
- Drill the hole with a 35 mm hole saw, placing the copper sheet on a scrap wooden board for stability.
Step 4: Smooth the Copper Edges
Ensure a refined finish
- Sand the edges of the drilled hole with 120-grit sandpaper.
- Remove any sharp or uneven surfaces for a polished look.
